George William Garland – 2/15/1934 - 4/28/2021

Mr. George Garland age 87 of Wookstock GA, passed at his residence on Wednesday April 28th, 2021.  

Mr. Garland was born in Gilmer County to the late Wes Garfield Garland and Florence Holt Garland. Mr. Garland served our country in the United States Navy and was Honorably discharged in August of 1958. He retired from Lockheed, where he worked for 36 years. Also, he was an avid outdoorsman, gardener, and history buff. However, above all else he loved spending time with his grandson, Daniel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1st at 2PM from the chapel of the Bernhardt Funeral Home. Interment to follow in the Riverhill Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites to be conducted by the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Farist Garland of the home; son and daughter-in-law Eric and Karen Garland of Holly Springs. Brother and sister Wayne Garland and Ruth Starks both of Ellijay. One Grandson, Daniel Garland. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 30th from 4PM until 8PM at the funeral home.
