Michael and Elizabeth had a total of 15 children but 5 have been lost in history. Michael could read and write in German but Elizabeth could not at all. Michael signed the marriage bond in German, and someone else signed for Elizabeth with the spelling Nease. It was dated 4 June 1787 in Virginia and signed by her father also. About 1798 the family moved to Green Co., Tennessee and then in 1815, moved to Washington Co., and then to Owen Co., settling near Gosport. The home they build there was made of cobblestone and was still standing in 1890. The family moved on to Missouri in 1842.

APPARENTLY THERE ARE TWO FAMILIES MIXED UP TOGETHER. AS FAR AS I KNOW, MINE IS CORRECT. MY INFORMATION CAME FROM THE DAR, MILITARY RECORDS. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO CHANGE ANYTHING AS I BELIEVE IN THE DAR AND HAVE NO REASON TO DOUBT THE MILITARY RECORDS.

***MICHAEL JOHN DITTEMORE*** HIS MILITARY RECORDS SPELL HIS NAME AS DITTEMORE. I have found people who claim his name spelled Ditemer but that is not correct.

He also was baptized in the Tohickon Lutheran Church, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania on
18 April 1764 under the name Michael John DITTMORE.
