L. R. Brown Dies at 87

Leonard R. Brown, 87, Route 2, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.

His service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Brooks and Rev. Burl Allison Jr. of the First United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church in Augusta.

He was born Jan 19, 1894 in Decatur, Ill. to Henry and Sarah Jordon Brown.

He married Jessie Berger June 10, 1923 in the Bloomington area. She survives.

He was a retired farmer and a Methodist.

He served in the military during World War I.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Sidney Devere Brown of Norman, Okla., and Stanley Brown of Doylestown, Pa.; a daughter Barbara Unruh of Wichita; a brother, Orville Brown, Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and a great grandchild.
