"CANFIELD – Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in First Presbyterian Church, Canfield, for Myron R. Williams, 81, of 147 Court St., who died Thursday morning in Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman. Mr. Williams was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Ellsworth, a son of Roy E. and Ella Sauerwein Williams. He was a retired officer and director of Farmers National Bank in Canfield, where he started as a bookkeeper in 1940 and retired in 1981 as vice president, cashier and loan administrator. He had also been a director of the bank from 1975 to 1990. He had attended American Institute of Banking and Ohio University Banking School, and graduated from Canfield High School and Wittenberg College. He was a member of the church where he served as a deacon, trustee, assistant treasurer and treasurer of the building funds. He was also a member and past president of Canfield Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was past president of the Canfield Community Club and had been treasurer and director of the Canfield Sportsman Conservation Club. He was a member of American Legion Post 177, Canfield Design Committee from 1969 to 1971, and was an American Red Cross volunteer. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, serving as a navigator on B-17s in the 8th Air Force, 94th Bomb Group. He leaves his wife, the former Cleo Bowman, whom he married Dec. 28, 1940; three sons, Donald R. of Olmsted Township, Ohio, Kenneth J. of Canfield and Richard M. of Medina, Ohio; and seven grandchildren. Three brothers, J. Louis, R. Eugene and Woodrow, and a sister, Mrs. Clara Troutman, are deceased. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church. Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund or American Heart Association. Arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home, Canfield. 8/14/98"
