Virginia, lovingly known as "Mama Ginny", was a dedicated mother to her children and brought much joy to her family and friends. She loved to travel, especially on cruises all over the world. Upon returning to Wrightsville Beach from her trips, she would exclaim "I get to come home to paradise!". One of the many loves of her life was her Yorkshire Terrier, "Susie". She was also blessed with a wonderful team of caregivers that would frequently take her out to lunch in her little, cobalt-blue Mercedes convertible, always stopping to pick up lottery tickets.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Trask Hollingsworth and son-in-law, Stanley Dal Hollingsworth; son, William Knox Trask and daughter-in-law, Frankie Clayton Trask; son-in-law, Stephen Anthony Gonsalves; grandchildren, Virginia Hollingsworth Reagan, Alexis Trask Bostic, William Knox Trask, Jr., and Clayton Cameron Trask; great grandchildren, Ella Virginia Reagan, William Knox Trask, III, Anna Rhodes Trask, Henry Porter Bostic and Joseph Trask Bostic; sister-in-law, Wilda Dellinger Council; and a special nephew, Cecil Knox Council, Jr.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Knox Council, Sr. and Clarence Chappel Council; three children, Bruce Cameron Trask, Alexander McEachern Trask, Jr. and Rachel Trask Gonsalves. The family is sincerely grateful for all the love from her team of dedicated caregivers that made her life so special.
Due to COVID precautions, a private, graveside service will be held. At the family's request in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
