Richard Russell Beard, 89, of Newton passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at his residence.
He was born February 1, 1932 in Catawba County to the late John and Dora Hudson Beard. Richard was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Maiden and a United States Air Force veteran where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and was a caring grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Fox Beard; and daughter, Tamera Alberta Beard.
