FORMER NYMAN MAN DIED IN A ST. PAUL HOSPITAL THURSDAY
August Anderson, 70, a former resident to the Nyman community, died last Thursday in the Bethesda Hospital at St. Paul, Minnesota, from a stomach ailment.
Mr. Anderson was married on February 25, 1897 to Lydia Hill of Stanton. They first lived at Madrid, Iowa, then on a farm near Nyman for 8 years. In 1929, the family moved to Marine-on-St. Croix, Minnesota, but for the past four years had been living in Scandia, Minnesota.
Surviving are Mrs. Lydia Anderson, a daughter, Grace, two sons, Leslie and Stanley, three brothers, Aaron and Joseph Anderson of Red Oak, and Elof Anderson of Stanton and one sister, Mrs. Elmer Erickson of near Red Oak.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Scandia Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Joel Olsenius, who was also their pastor while living at Nyman. Burial was also at Scandia.
Relatives from this community attending the funeral were Mr. And Ms. Elmer Erickson, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Anderson, Mrs. Elof Anderson, and Joseph Anderson, who returned home Tuesday.
