Elsie Lorraine Nielsen of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away April 17, 2021, at the age of 102. She was born July 1, 1918, in Bishop Township, Illinois, the daughter of August and Helena Garbe. She married Francis A. Nielsen on July 20, 1940, in Chicago at Acacia Park Lutheran Church. She and Fran retired in Mountain Home after moving from Park Ridge, Illinois in 1977. She was a member of the Republican Women's Club, serving as the Publicity Secretary in Park Ridge, IL, and was then a member of the Mountain Home, AR, location. A devout Christian, she was also a member of the Lutheran Ladies Guild, as well as the Devotional Chairman of the Sunshine Guild at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Mountain Home. Elsie was a talented organist, seamstress, and gardener. She also supported her husband's entrepreneurial endeavors as Secretary to his moving company, Nielsen Brothers Moving Inc., as a major portion of her married life.

Elsie is survived by her loving daughters Vicki Cowell (James) and Ruth Ellen Hobbs.
She was adored by her grandchildren Dena (Bill), Natalie (Lonnie), Robert, Kathleen, James (Rebecca), Rikki (Gary), and Rebekka (Brendon); her many great-grandchildren, Stefanie, Kathryn, Ryan, Jacob, Jamie, Jenna, Christian, Olyvia, Everest, Harrison, and Luella. She was also blessed with one great-great grandchild, Joselynn.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents August and Helena; her brothers and sisters Arlin, Walter, Martin, Marvin, Ida and Clara; her devoted husband Francis; daughters Joanne Brunke (Ralph) and Toni Gray (Paul); granddaughter Lori Ann; and son-in-law James.

A Funeral Service for Elsie will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Reverend Kevin McReynolds officiating. Due to current restrictions, masks are required.
