Cornelia was a 1953 graduate of Stronghurst High School. She proudly lived most of her adult life in the Hopper community, near Stronghurst. She was a homemaker most of her life, raising five children and caring for her home. She was also employed at Lamont Limited and Selbys in Burlington for a few years. She was a member of the Good Sam CB Club, and the Stronghurst Christian Church. She loved gardening, raising animals, and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed camping, sewing, crocheting, reading, and listening to music. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling and they wintered in Arizona for several years.
Survivors include one daughter; Suzanne (Phil) Dye of Stronghurst, three sons; James David Sickels Jr (Paula Robinson) of Glasgow, KY, Mark Douglas Sickels of Fort Madison, IA, Darrel Dean (Diane) Sickels of Bay City, MI, one daughter in law; Diane Sickels of Oquawka, IL, a special friend of the family; Naomi Kuenstler, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and one brother; Kenneth Mosher of Gonzales, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son; Brian Daniel "Danny" Sickels, one daughter in law; Mary Sickels, one sister; Edna Northrup, and three brothers; William, Gerald, and Clayton Mosher.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday April 30, 2021 in the Olena Cemetery.
