Mrs. Jane Amelia Rigg Anne Succumbs to Old Age.

Mrs. Jane Amelia Rigg Anne, widow of Conrad Anne, died Friday A.M. at 5:30 o'clock at the home of her son, George W. Anne, No. 970 East Orange street. Deceased had been ailing the last six months with the infirmities of old age, to the effects of which her death was due.

Mrs. Anne came from distinguished families. She was in her eighty-fifth year, and was born in this city, where she resided until about ten years ago when she removed to her daughter's home in Altoona. Five weeks ago she came to this city. She was a daughter of William A. and Catharine Anne (sic). Her great-grandfather was Judge Atlee, while her grandfather, Rigg, was a rector of St. James' Episcopal church. Her husband, who has been dead forty years, was a furniture manufacturer and dealer.

Mrs. Anne was a member of St. John's Lutheran church, and a model Christian. She was noted for her many good deeds and endeared herself to all by her charitable disposition. Until a short time before her death she had the full use of all her faculties. Having a good memory and being very entertaining she could tell with great interest happenings of her girlhood. The following children survive: George W., of the firm of Anne & Thomas; Harry, of this city, and Mary E., wife of Frank Finney, of Altoona. The funeral will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with private interment in Woodward Hill cemetery. -- The Lancaster Examiner, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, 16Sep1905 p. 5.
