PAUL EDWARD CARROLL
September 7, 1928 ~ April 25, 2021
Paul Edward Carroll passed away from this life on April 25, 2021 at the age of 92. He was born on September 7, 1928 in Lindsey, OK. He spent his early childhood in Oklahoma. He attended school in Golden.
He moved to California in 1947. While working there he met the love of his life, Olene Ellis. They married in 1949 on the courthouse steps in Bakersfield, CA. They shared 72 years of marriage. While in California Paul worked for Belridge School and helped Olene run Spicer City Market.
In 1979, they relocated to Golden, Oklahoma. Paul retired after moving to Oklahoma and began ranching. He spent his time helping others. He never met a stranger. He liked to burn brush, cut firewood for neighbors and keep his yard mowed.
Paul was a member of Golden Baptist Church and was a very active member. He was on the building and grounds committee. He and Olene would clean the church every Friday. Paul read his Bible every day.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching western movies, doing word search puzzles, reading western books and even fished from time to time. He also loved gardening with his wife, Olene. They grew a very large garden every year. He also drove to California every May to attend the Ellis family reunion.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Henry Carroll and Ora Amanda (May) Carroll; brothers, Charles Henry Carroll Jr., Luther Charles Carroll, Eugene Carroll and Ezra Lee Carroll; sisters, Eunice Tarver and Richadeen Clouse.
He is survived by his wife, Olene, of the home; his sons, Ronald Carroll (wife Kristine) of Golden, OK, Dennis Carroll (wife Cheryl) of Bakersfield, CA and Danny Carroll and Laura of Raymore, MO;
Grandchildren, Whitney Hopson (husband Roy) of Broken Bow, OK, Amy Hammonds (husband Ricky) of Idabel, OK, Jennafer Campbell (husband Glen) of Bakersfield, CA, Christin Faber (husband Jay) of Bakersfield, CA, Erin Collins (husband Casey) of Garden City, MO, Ryan Carroll (wife Kaitlen) of Joplin, MO, Sarah Carroll, Jayce Carroll and Maya Carroll of Raymore, MO;
17 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces, special friends and people he cared about.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday April 30, 2021 at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, OK.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Golden Baptist Church. Burial will be at Watson Cemetery.
