Wichita, Kansas - Frances I. Pershall, 89, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in Kansas City, MO. Frances was born the daughter of Raymond and Cloe (Bybee) Adams on January 20, 1932 in Morrison, Oklahoma. Frances and Wendell Pershall were united in marriage on June 3, 1956 in Oklahoma. Together they celebrated 38 years before his passing in 1994. Frances served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1952 to 1955. Frances loved to work, after high school she started working for Southwestern Bell. She joined the Air Force from 1952-1955 and was a Staff sergeant (SSgt). She returned to the phone company and transferred to Wichita after marrying. She became a homemaker once her and Wendell had a family. She managed a local Wichita favorite burger joint and worked evenings and weekends to be home during the day. She supported Wendell's entrepreneurial spirit and "Pershall Painting and Papering" was born. Her longest job was with Wescon Products and she worked there for 32 years before retiring. Even after retirement, she providing respite care for caregivers with Companion Care. She always kept moving, she loved walking, being outside, working in the garden and she had a great love for animals, especially cats. Her baking skills were off the charts and her chicken and noodles were a family favorite. She was always upbeat despite the circumstances. She will be greatly missed but always remembered. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Chris Pershall; brother, Charles Adams; baby sister, Virginia. Survivors include her children, Mark R. Pershall, Karen (Thomas) Pershall-Wilder; grandchildren, Chloe, Thomas A. and Anna Wilder; siblings, Jack Adams, Eugene (Sue) Adams, Kenneth (Suzanne) Adams, Ruth (Wayne) McCray, Lila (George) Siler, James Adams, Virgil (Becky) Adams and extended family. Visitation will be from 11 to 1pm on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Hillside Funeral Home, 2929 W. 13th St. N., Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Victory In the Valley, 3755 E Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67218.
