Peggy Nyrell Callahan Buck age, 78 of Rural Retreat, Va. departed this world, surrounded by family, on Saturday, April 24, 2021, after battling a long illness.
Born April 27, 1942, in Wytheville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Early Vance Callahan and Thelma Ruth Grubb-Callahan of Wytheville, Va.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Lee Callahan Hoyt of Rural Retreat, Va.
Peggy will be forever loved and her memory cherished by her husband of 58 years Franklin D Buck of Rural Retreat, Va., daughter DeeDee Stewart (Larry) of Catawba, NC, sons Tony Buck (Kim) of Rural Retreat, Va., and Eric Buck (Rhonda) of Jeffersonville, In., grandchildren Alesha Buck, Derek Buck (Amiee ), Stacia Buck, Amy Roll (Alex), Christopher Stewart (Ashley), Justin Stewart (Lexie), Erika Buck, and Casey Stewart, beloved nephew Scott Hoyt, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great, great-grandchild and a host of cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Revered Jeff Callahan, with an interment to follow at Fairview Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
