Arnold was the son of Rev. Dr. John F. Fenton and his wife Elizabeth Butler. Arnold was an Episcopal Priest, he was ordained on June 24, 1927. Arnold married first to Carla Mathiasen on November 5, 1926 at Manhattan, New York. Arnold and Carla had two sons, Arnold and Noel. He married second to Charlotte McPherson in April of 1960 at Trenton, New Jersey.
