Mary Josephine Spencer, 85, passed away April 19, 2021. Survived by daughters, Clara J. (Blanch) Hodge, Mary F. Hanna, Patricia A. Bruce (Brian Wollard, fiance), Susan I. (Alan) McNew and Nancy L. (Mike) Demmler; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Thomas F. Spencer; daughter, Laura Jane Spencer; parents, Henry and Emily Guilfoyle; five brothers; and two sisters. Mary was born on June 15, 1935, in Sperry, Okla., raised six daughters and worked alongside her husband who was the General Manager of the Arizona-Colorado Land and Cattle Company. After leaving the ranch, she worked retail sales at Joslins/Dillards for 25 years.
Mary enjoyed cooking, canning, reading, traveling and holding and rocking babies. She also enjoyed spending time with her six daughters and their families. Mary was a parishioner at St. Pius Catholic Church in Pueblo Colo. and former member of the Colorado Cowbells associated with Colorado Cattlemen. Viewing, 4 to 6 pm, Monday in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Rosary, 9:30 am followed by Mass at 10:00 am Tuesday April 27, 2021, at St. Pius Catholic Church, 3130 Morris Ave. with Father Zaldy Norba officiating. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
