Elsie Elizabeth Zufall

Elsie Elizabeth (Murray) Zufall, 85, a transplant from Williamstown, Vermont, and a long-time resident of Franklin, Indiana, died April 20, 2021, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana.

She was born October 18, 1936 in Northfield, Vermont, the daughter of Sheldon and Maidene (Granger) Murray.

She graduated from high school in Williamstown, Vermont, and played on the high school varsity basketball team.

On March 16, 1957, Elsie married John A. Zufall and moved to Franklin, Indiana, where they worked together to build their dream home. She enjoyed baking, knitting, crocheting, helping others, and in her later years she enjoyed the game of pickleball.

She was an active member of the Trafalgar Christian Church and participated in the choir, Christian Women's Fellowship, Fellowship Committee, and the Youth Group. She donated many crafted items to the Church Bazaar each year.

Elsie worked for a local radio station and later was employed by the Johnson County REMC from 1967 until she retired in 1987. After retirement, she joined her husband in the family business. She was also a member of Eastern Star, American War Mothers, and Home Ec.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Parker (Scott) of Clarks Hill, IN, and Linda Harris (Mark) of Fayetteville, AR; one son, John Patrick Zufall (Valarie) of Franklin, IN; three sisters, Eleanor Murray Denko of Graniteville, VT, Pauline Murray Washburn and Sandra Murray Ferno of Williamstown, VT; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Zufall; a daughter, Karen Zufall; a son, Larry Zufall; and a brother, Edwin Murray.

A celebration of Elsie's life will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held on Monday, April 26 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana. The service will be live streamed on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. on Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home Facebook page.
