Ethel J. Shelton, 88, of Fredericksburg passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Hospital in Mechanicsville.

She was born in Fauquier County on October 22, 1932, the daughter of Arthur Thomas Jacobs and Annie Smith Jacobs. Mrs. Shelton enjoyed shopping with her daughter, family beach trips to Myrtle Beach and loved to look for seashells on the beach. She also loved to eat out at Chick-Fil-A and Popeyes.

Mrs. Shelton is survived by her only child, a daughter Sandy Shelton, of Fredericksburg whom she loved more than anything in the world; several nieces Kristi Tilley (Paul) of Amissville, Kim Hamlin (John Alward) of Fredericksburg, and Tina Allen, Terry Davis, Loretta King all of Fredericksburg; as well as several other nieces and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Shelton; and sisters, Marjorie Allen, Zelda Hall, and Eva Myers; and a brother Eugene Thomas Jacobs.

A Graveside Service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, April 21 at Oak Hill Cemetery.
