Opal Gilchriest, age 92, of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, passed away on December 17, 2016 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on October 11, 1924 in Woodville, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Hill C. Durham and Annie Mae Bertran Durham.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Carroll Gilchriest.
She is survived by her sons Dan Gilchriest of Dodge City, Kansas and James Clinton Gilchriest of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, her grandchildren Keely Gilchriest Briggs and Ashley Gilchriest and her great-grandchildren Riley Gilchriest Briggs, William Gilchriest Briggs and Parker Gilchriest Briggs. Mrs. Gilchriest is also survived by her other relatives and many friends.
Visitation is scheduled for 12:30pm - 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs, Arkansas, with funeral services beginning at 2:00pm. Interment will follow in Woodland Memorial Park in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.
