Carla Louise (Fitch) Duer, 79, of Oklahoma City, OK was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 17, 2021. She was a member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene.

Carla was born on March 24, 1942 to Albert Meredith & Thelma Estie Fitch in Oklahoma City. When she was born, they lived in the oil field camp in Oklahoma City. After moving several times, they moved to the Phillips Petroleum Camp in Deer Creek just outside of Edmond, OK. Carla graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1960. She met the love of her life, Darrell Jens Duer, on a blind date on January 14, 1961 and they married at the Hopewell Baptist Church also known as the "Teepee Church" on April 15, 1961. They were married for 60 years.

In 1977, she became the official "Crew Chief" for what was her husband's and her passion of hot air ballooning. He was the pilot. She was the best crew chief ever and was always right there when they landed the balloon no matter what it took to get there. They participated in the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta for 18 different years. She was an avid sports fan, especially about basketball. She loved watching all the OU teams play whether it was football or basketball.

She was the most giving, loving and supportive person anyone could know. She stood by her husband's side helping him with all of his endeavors from helping fix up rental properties to repairing balloons. She was his official book and record keeper. You should see all her past calendars. She had everything possible written down. She worked in the nursery at church taking care of the little ones as she loved children. She also loved her animals as well as everyone else's and even those who didn't have a home she gave them a home like the three cats they have now. She also enjoyed going to dog shows and estate sales with her daughter.
