Peter Barkdoll was around 75 years of age at the time he repurchased his lands, and, when he died in the early 1830s, John became the owner of the property. When John Barkdoll died in 1859, he lived on 46 acres of the land, which now comprises the farm of Mr. Wilbur Shatzer, who lives in a stone house that was probably built by John Barkdoll. Just a few feet to the east of the stone house still stands the earlier Barkdoll log cabin mentioned above."
