DUMAS - Ruth Kempson, 92, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church of Dumas with the Rev. John Wagoner, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Kempson was born April 27, 1910, at the Crawford Ranch. She was a Moore County resident all of her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dumas. She was a rancher.

She taught at Masterson from 1932 to 1934 prior to her marriage to Edgar Kempson on Dec. 22, 1934, in Clayton, N.M. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1973.

She was the youngest child of pioneer ranchers, J.M. and Manurva (Bud and Nanny) Crawford. She was a longtime member, past worthy matron and grand officer of Dumas Chapter Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 653.

She was a charter member of Memorial Hospice, longtime dedicated volunteer of Rose Ladies and held offices in Dilattante Study Club and Pilot Club.

She was a member and past queen of Daughters of the Nile and was a longtime volunteer of Moore County Museum. Our profound appreciation to Memorial Nursing Home and Ware Care Center for the care of our loved one. We were blessed.

Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Kempson Kiser and husband, Sam, of Amarillo; two grandsons, Kempson Kiser and wife, Janette, and Blair Kiser and wife, Amanda; and a great-granddaughter, Shyanne Kiser.

The family will receive friends at the Fellowship Hall of the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday morning for food and refreshments.

The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second, Dumas, TX 79029; or to First United Methodist Church music fund, P.O. Box 395, Dumas, TX 79029.
