Calvary Company G. 1st Georgia Regiment
Company G. 1st Georgia Calvary commenced service at the first battle of Murfreesboro, Tenn., under the command of Gen. Forest. After which we participated in the second battle of Murfreesboro. Our line of action was then for a while in Tenn. After which in Kentucky, when we were in the following battles:-Summerset, Crab Orchard, Big Hill, We then went into Tenn. Again-then to Georgia and was engaged in the Battle of Chickamauga. Then in front of Sherman through Georgia, being in the battles Resaca, Ringgold, Altoona and Kennesaw, also New Hope Church. Then we were in front of Atlanta and being in front we were without ant abatement engaged all the time in Georgia, ending in Savannah. We then went into South Carolina where we captured Gen. Stoneman near Aiken. Hence to North Carolina and was in the Surrender of our army. Being honorably discharged near Raleigh.
