MOULTRIE — Ann Hardwick Smith, 87, of Moultrie and formerly of Marietta, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Sam Stephens and the Rev. Jimmy McCristal officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Ga.
Born Sept. 25, 1920, in Slocomb, Ala., she was the daughter of the late James A. Hardwick and Docia Purvis Hardwick. She was a retired registered nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kennaman Browning Smith; three sisters, Clyde Hardwick Carnes, Gladys Hardwick Harris and Florrie Hardwick Freeman; a brother, Dr. James L. Hardwick; a brother-in-law, John Strother Smith; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Elizabeth Smith.
Survivors include one son, James Kennaman Smith and wife Chris of Marietta, Ga.; one daughter, Charlotte Smith Cook and husband Fred of Moultrie; three grandsons, James A. Smith and wife Allison of Acworth, Ga., Derrick Tate Smith of Marietta, Ga., and Brian Gardner Cook of Moultrie; one brother, Dr. Charles W. Hardwick and wife Bernadette of Sanford, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Dr. Helen Wells Smith of Murphy, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, Oct. 30, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
