Rufus T Hanson was the son of Daniel A Hanson and Emily (Morine) Hanson. His family moved to Lake County in 1874. He was one of the officers and stockholders of the Lake County Meat & Produce Company and owned a farm of one hundred and forty acres in Burns Valley, Lake county. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows being a past grand. In 1898 Mr Hanson was united in marriage, at Lower Lake, with Miss Velma Rannells, a native of Tehama count, Cal, daughter of Isaiah Wilson Rannells and Mary Jane (Bonham) Rannells. Mr and Mrs Hanson had one child, Walter Rolland Hanson.
