William Wert Cooper Jr., 64, passed away March 1, 2005 at his residence in Clarksdale. He was the owner of Mag-Pie Gift and Art Shop.
Mr. Cooper was born June 2, 1940 in Clarksdale to William Wert Cooper Sr. and Margaret Pattison Mitchell. He was a member, elder and deacon of First Presbyterian Church. He was also very active in the North Mississippi Emmaeus Community, serving on the board.
He served as past president of the Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Rotary Club and Yazoo-Mississippi Delta Levee Board. He was a graduate of Clarksdale High School and the University of Mississippi.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Miles Cooper of Clarksdale; son, William Wert Cooper III of Boston; sister, Maggie Tyner of Clarksdale; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held today at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Gleason officiating. Interment followed at Oakridge Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Nowell Funeral Home.
