Marvin Batt, a sales representative for 23 years, had worked for National Temperature Control Center, Vemco Inc., Northwest Pipe, Central Sheet Metal and Sign and Design. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was devoted to his family, enjoyed golf and gardening, and was a member of the Laurel Golf Club and the Elks Lodge.

Mr. Batt, 59, of 1326 Ave. E., died Monday in his home of apparent cardiac arrest.

He was born in Laurel, a son of Henry and Katherine Batt. He grew up in Laurel and attended Eastern Montana College. On Aug. 20, 1949, married Lois Lanouette in Billings.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Laurel; a son, James of Hinsdale, Ill; three daughters, Cathy Barrett of Juneau, Alaska, Karen Odle of Spokane, Wash., and Kelly Batt of Billings; a brother, H. Ruben of Laurel; and four sisters, Clara Kuchta of Billings, Helen LaVoy of San Jose, Calif., and Myrna Knaub and Cecelia Beadle, both of Laurel; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Michelotte-Sawyers Mortuary with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
