Edward T. Arhelger, 87, formerly of 114 E. Irving Ave., died Thursday at 8:15 a.m. at Shore Haven Nursing Home, Oconomowoc, where he had been the past three years.

He was born in Town of Friendship, Fond du Lac County, on March 19, 1875, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Arhelger, and came to Oshkosh in 1900. He was married here on Oct. 19, 1905, to Emma Bratsch, who preceded him in death on May 8, 1959.

On coming to Oshkosh, Mr. Arhelger was employed by the Sawyer Gas Co., then was employed by the Soper Furniture Co. until joining a partnership with Harry Mallery in the Mallery-Arhelger Funeral Home, now Seefeld Funeral Home. He retired in 1946.

He was a member of First Evangelical United Brethren Church in Oshkosh.

Surviving are two sons, Allan Arhelger, Greendale, and Lloyd G. Arhelger, Oshkosh; one brother, William Arhelger, Milwaukee. Three sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.

Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Seefeld Funeral Home, with the Rev. Homer H. Retzlaff, pastor of First Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Saturday at 3 p.m. until the hour of services. A memorial has been established, to which friends may contribute.
