John A. Hatfield, age 75, loving husband of Patricia A. White Hatfield, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at the Waterbury Hospital, following an unexpected illness. Mr. Hatfield was born in Elmira, N.Y. on June 29, 1929, son of the late John W. and Sally Balonis Hatfield. He was a resident of Watertown for 12 years, previously residing in Shelton and Rhode Island. He had worked as an executive in the electronics industry. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was honorably discharged after faithfully serving during the Korean Conflict. He was devoted to his family and was an avid fisherman. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, John L. Hatfield of Seymour and James R. Hatfield of Saunders Town, R.I.; a daughter, Kathleen Lembo of Beacon Falls; two sisters, Shirley Vogel and Patricia Knoblock, both of Erie, Pa.; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Jeffrey P. Hatfield; and a daughter, Karen Sharpe, predeceased him. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, October 17, 2004 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Spinelli-Malerba-Ricciuti Funeral Home, 62 Beaver Street, Ansonia, CT 06401. Private burial will be held in Mt. St. PeterCs Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Birmingham Group/Umbrella, 435 East Main Street, Ansonia, CT or through the funeral home.
