Annie was born on September 6, 1918 in Swan Lake, Idaho. She was the 5th child of 13 children born to her parents, George and Julia Matkin. She had many happy memories of her youth to share with her children.
Annie moved to Logan shortly after her high school graduation. There she met Elmer Stone at a dance. He saw her from across the room and was so smitten by her that he said to his sister, "I am going to marry that girl." They were married in the Salt Lake temple March 31, 1937. Annie and Elmer built a home in Chapin, Idaho where they raised their four children.
Annie was a happy and talented woman who used her abilities to bless the lives of many others. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting and quilt making. She also worked alongside her husband with the farm work.
She enjoyed reading and learning. She served faithfully in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. In their later years, Elmer and Annie served a mission together in the Washington, D.C. area. Upon returning home they worked side by side building their new house in Victor, Idaho. They served many years in the Idaho Falls temple.
For the past few years Annie has been cared for by the loving staff of the Beehive Home in American Fork, Utah.
Annie was a cheerful spirit. We will always remember her songs, the bright twinkle in her eyes, the clasp of her hand, and her generous love.
