Mary Jane Fisk was born to James R and Martha Hiller Fisk. Mary had four siblings that I know of and they were Anne R, Harriett Alice, John V and Charles E Fisk.

On January 24, 1871, Mary married John William Spalding in Hannibal, Missouri. They moved to Texas in the 1880s. Together they had ten children and they were Alice, Charles, Addie, J J, Mary "Mamie", Fredrick, William, Bessie, Arthur, and baby Spalding.

Mary died at the age of 46 and her husband passed in 1922.
