Dean Alan Ahlschlager, formerly of Columbus, Texas, passed away on April 9, 2021 in La Grange, Texas at the age of 59. He was born to Clarence Arthur Ahlschlager, Sr. and Lillie Mae (Voitle) Ahlschlager on March 6, 1962 in Columbus, Texas.

Dean worked at Bluebonnet Trails Community MHMR Center and also served as a door greeter at Walmart. Dean was known for his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit. He loved listening to music on the radio, especially classic country songs. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dean will be lovingly remembered by his brother, sisters, niece, nephew and friends.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lillie Mae Ahlschlager.

Dean is survived by: brother, Clarence Ahlschlager, Jr. and wife Carelie of Schulenburg, Texas; sisters, Janice Henschen of Schulenburg, Texas and Carol Ahlschlager of La Grange, Texas; niece, Jessica Braswell; and nephew, Nicholas Henschen.

A funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus, Texas with Pastor Alan Kethan officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus, Texas. A visitation will be on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas.
