Adam was born in Lockerbie, Scotland. He came to Canada at the age of 17. He made his home around Lemberg and a few years later farmed nine miles north of that town. In 1946 he moved to Balcarres and bought a farm south of town. In 1965 he left for Kelowna, B.C. Adam had been in poor health a couple of years prior to his departure. He had a brother Matthew and a sister Nan, both in Scotland. He also had several cousins in Canada. Adam passed away July 28, 1969, in his 66th year in a hospital at Kelowna. The remains were cremated.
