Longtime area resident Cleo Gene Bickford, 94, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 in the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville, OK.



Gene was born September 9, 1926 in Chelsea, OK the son of Charles and Rhoda (Groom) Bickford. A Veteran, he served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the City of Pawhuska, where he had worked at the City's Electric and Water Department. A resident of Wynona, Gene was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wynona. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, and watching Oklahoma Sooner and Dallas Cowboys football.



Surviving are his sons: Kyle Bickford and wife, Michele; Gene Bickford; Scott Bickford and wife, Shaunna; and Pete Bickford; daughter Shirley Kirk; sister Joan Peck; 15 grandkids and 22 great-grandkids.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and eleven brothers and sisters.



Graveside services will be held Friday, February 26, 2:00PM, in the AJ Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy, OK. Rev. Pat Andrews will officiate. Graveside military honors will be performed by American Legion Post 198. Interment will follow.
