Betty Ruth Castle was born August 21, 1927 to Clarence and Margaret (Mahoney) Sidebotham. She spent her childhood in Kentucky before the family moved to Los Angeles California where she spent her teenage years, met and married Dale Castle on May 15, 1948, and enjoyed 47years together until his passing on July 17, 1995. Betty and Dale retired to Northern California in 1980 and upon her husband's passing in 1995 she moved to San Diego to live and enjoy the rest of her life.
Throughout her lifetime she enjoyed and was proficient in designing beautiful floral arrangements, interior design, and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice, all of which she continued to do until just a few years ago. She loved spending time with family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They always brought smiles and joy to her life.
Betty is survived by her daughters Wendy Treat (Ron) of Chula Vista, Ca, Lindsay Wittick of Anchorage, Alaska, five grandchildren, Matthew Treat (Katie), Jesse Treat, Ryan Addison, Tyler Addison, and Cody Wittick, and three great grandchildren, Charly Treat, Griffin Treat, and Penny Treat.
Betty was a beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Aunt, and Friend. She went to be with Christ on January 3, 2021 and will rest in peace with her husband Dale at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, private burial pending.
