Sarah M. Preston, 82, died peacefully in her sleep March 29, 2021, at the Cooperstown Center in Cooperstown, NY.
She was born May 3, 1938 in South New Berlin, NY a daughter of Arthur E. and Myrtle E. (Kane) Angell.
She lived in Cherry Valley for several years and had lived in other areas of Otsego County during her lifetime; was employed by Bassett Hospital, Woodside Hall and The Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown before her retirement.
Sarah loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and the many friends she had made throughout her life. She enjoyed talking about and taking photos of her family and friends; taking daily walks, nature, Humming Birds, Butterflies, crafts, sewing, baking, tending her house plants and gardening.
Sarah is survived by one daughter, Susan (Mark) Hayes of Cherry Valley; three grandchildren, Mark Jr. (Michael) Hayes of Grimes, Iowa; Josh (Katie) Hayes of Cherry Valley; and Melissa (Kishan) Mistry of New Windsor, NJ. One great-grand daughter, Leila Hayes of Cherry Valley. Two brothers, Ronald Angell of Remsen and Warren Angell of Utica; one sister, MaryLou Hutchings of Oneida; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Angell of Utica; sisters, Margaret Angell of Waterville, Ruth Angell of Maryland state, and Helen Tuckey of Norwich; and a great grandchild, Gracie Hayes of Grimes, Iowa.
Private services will be held with family.
