Marian D. Peterson, age 87, Clark, died on Friday evening, April 2, 2021 in the Avantara Clark Care Center.

PRIVATE funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 11AM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with Pastor Mark Tracy officiating. PUBLIC Visitation will be two hours prior to services. Masks are required at the funeral home. Thank-you for understanding. Casketbearers will be Christopher Duncan, Jamie Fosberg, Jeff Fuks, Mike Freese, Paul DiPietro, and Shawn Hurlbut. The honorary casketbearers will be Summer Duncan, Jennifer DiPietro, Melinda Fuks, Kari Hurlbut, Katie Freese, Claire Duncan, the great-grandchildren and the great-great-grandson. Burial will follow the services in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark.

She was born Marian Delores Golz on July 16, 1933 at Siren, WI, the daughter of Reinhold and Frances (Manthey) Golz. Marian grew to adulthood in the Milltown, WI area, attending country school, working on the family farm and milking cows.

She was united in marriage to Leo Duncan in 1951. To this marriage 5 children were born, James, Steven, Janet, Donald, and Susan. This union later ended in divorce.

Marian moved to Henry in the early 70's working in the local café and bar-tending. She later owned and operated the Big Tree Café & Bar and the Garden City Café.

In 1995 she married Donald Peterson. She enjoyed spending time in Wisconsin, on the farm in Iowa and South Dakota. She wintered in Texas. He died in 2013.

She was a resident of the Wookey Assisted Living Center for 5 years and then entered the care center in August of 2018. Marian was always busy. She loved spending time with her family. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, puzzles, dancing, bingo, penny slots, watching the Minnesota Twins and the Green Bay Packers.

Preceding her in death was her son, James Duncan, brothers, Roland and Harold Golz, brother-in-law, Cliff Tromburg, a sister-in-law, Midge Golz and her husband Don Peterson.

Survivors include Children, Steven Duncan of Webster, WI, Janet (Vince) Quast and Donald (Michele) Duncan all of Chaska, MN, Susan Foster of Clark and a daughter-in-law, Arlene Duncan of Oconto Falls, Wi. She also leaves 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson, and siblings, Vera Tromburg of Virginia, MN, Arnold Golz of Oakland, CA, Mildred (Rod) Hopkins of Webster, WI. and the children's Father, Leo Duncan of Wisconsin.
