Josephine D. Gibson, 89, of Chester, passed away, Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester. She heard the words as she entered heaven, "Well done thy good and faithful servant... you have kept the faith, your time on earth is done, welcome home." .
Born, March 28, 1932, in Hookstown, she was a daughter of the late Okey and Elsie Newland Sayre. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, George G. Gibson; brothers, Jim, Okey Jr., and Dick Sayre; sister, Mable White; stepsisters, Thelma Wright, and Bessie Shamp.
Josephine attended Chester High School and she was formerly employed at TS&T Pottery. She was a member of area Nazarene Churches and she taught Sunday School for many years.
Josephine was a devoted wife and mother, and she will be deeply missed by her daughter, Diane Haines, and her husband Rick of Chester and by her sister, Mary Bowen of Chester.
Private services were officiated by Evangelist John Treese, at the Arner Funeral Chapel, and interment was held at Locust Hill Cemetery. 4-4-2021
