Robert Allen Smith, Jr., 61, of Lafayette passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Robert was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. He was of the Baptist faith. Robert was a member of the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local #43. He was an avid lover of motorcycles and classic cars, especially his 1967 Firebird.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Robert Allen and Verna Sue Davidson Smith, Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Wright Smith, daughter Shelby (John) Logan of Lafayette, brothers Ronald Smith of Nashville and Sidney Smith of Cleveland, TN, sister Saundra Randolph of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren Austin Logan, Cullen Logan, Liam Logan, and Blaine Logan, great-grandchildren Colt and Amarra Logan, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend James Taylor officiating. Pallbearers are Ronald Smith, Sidney Smith, Austin Logan, Cullen Logan, Liam Logan, Blaine Logan, Justin Randolph, and Nathan Randolph.
Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
