Elizabeth Ritchie lived with her brother Solomon Ritchie Jr. in the 1870 and 1880 Rockingham County census. There is a court case "Creditors of Elizabeth Ritchie versus Administrator of Elizabeth Ritchie, chancery court index number 1902-032. The testimony in the case says she lived independently until shortly before her death when she moved in with her niece and nephew Margaret Custer and John C.
