Norma Anna Hahne, nee Beutler, 93, of New Athens, Ill., born Thursday, March 24, 1921, in Clinton County, Ill., passed peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence in Elk Grove Village, Ill., surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Hahne was a graduate of McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill. She was a teacher of third and fourth graders for 45 years. She was a devoted and loving wife to the late Fred W. Hahne for 44 years. She loved gardening, flowers, her home and was always there for her family. After retirement, she and Fred loved traveling the world. Norma was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Smithton, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick W. Hahne; parents, Marcus and Catherine, nee Schmidt, Beutler; sister and brothers-in-law, Irene (Arthur) Hinrichs, Ruby (John) Hinrichs, Ethel (Rev. Orlando) Brakemeyer, and Simon and Isabelle Dillon.
