Joyce Pelligrini Laird passed away May 23, 2014 in Vallejo following a long illness. She was born in Idaho and had lived in Vallejo for more than 90 years. She married Bruno Pellegrini on December 28, 1941, when she was 23 years old. Four years after Bruno's death in 1971, Joyce married George Newton Laird in Reno, Nevada, on October 25, 1975. She worked at Vallejo Parent Nursery for 10 years. She also worked at Solano Junior College and later at Family and Childrens Services before retiring at age 75. In addition to her husbands Bruno Pellegrini and George Laird, Joyce was preceded in death by brothers Leonard and Howard Hyland, and sister Barbara Vanderschoot.
Joyce is survived by her son, Vince (LaVonne) Pellegrini; daughter, Chris Pellegrini; grandchildren, Vinnie Pellegrini, Jennifer (Andrew) Lynskey and Marlene (Jason) Maffei; great grandchildren Zack and Amanda Lynskey and Ashley, Brandon, Andrea and Bradley Maffei.
The funeral service was held at Twin Chapels Mortuary in Vallejo, with burial at All Souls Cemetery, Vallejo.
