Rites For Mrs. Bob Wolf, 30, Held Today
A 30-year-old mother of two children and the wife of a local merchant died at the Waseca Memorial hospital at 10:20 p. m., Saturday and was buried with rites from the Pfaff Home for Funerals this afternoon.
She was Mrs. Robert W. Wolf, nee Doris Mae Benson. Death was due to a heart attack occurring in conjunction with childbirth. The child, a son, failed to survive and was interred with his mother at Woodville cemetery.
Mrs. Wolf originally came to Waseca in 1941 as a teacher in the local public schools. Following her marriage to Robert Wolf in 1943 and a period of residence in Bricelyn, the young couple and their two children returned to Waseca in June, 1948. They recently moved into their new home on Eighth St., N. E.
She attended school at the Okabena public schools and was graduated as valedictorian of her class in 1935. She was active in school functions and athletics throughout her career as a student.
Following graduation, she attend{31}ed normal school at Lakefield for a year and, in preparation for further training in the field of education, taught in the rural schools of Jackson for three years.
Following this period of practical experience, she entered the Mankato Teachers college and was graduated there in 1940. After teaching a year at Gibbon she took a contract in Waseca where she taught third grade during the school years 1941-42, 1942-43.
She was married on June 22, 1943 to Robert W. Wolf, son of Wm. B. Wolf, Waseca, a pioneer local merchant. The wedding took place at the Heron Lake home of the bride’s parents.
In July, 1943, Mr and Mrs. Wolf took up residence in Bricelyn where Mr. Wolf operated a branch of the Wolf & Habein stores. They moved to Waseca in July, 1948.
Mrs. Wolf has been a church member since childhood and since moving to Waseca, has been affiliated with the Congregational church. She was a member of Eastern Star and the local Child Study club. One of her earliest interests was choral work. Chief of all her interests, however, was centered in her home and family.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, 38; a son Steven, 3; a daughter, Susan, 20 months, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Benson, Heron Lake; one brother, Howard, also of Heron Lake and a sister, Mrs. Donald Klaus (Fern) of Bremerton, Washington. All of her immediate relatives were present at the funeral, as well as many friends from Jackson county, Bricelyn, Rochester, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Oskaloosa, Iowa, Chicago and Waseca.
