DORIS EILEEN CHANEY (Age 75)

Entered into eternal life December 26, 2016. Eileen was born in Washington, DC on May 18, 1941 to Albert A. Adams and Doris M. (Hackshaw) Adams but lived most of her life in Calvert County, Maryland. In 2014, at a time when she needed more daily assistance, she moved to Arlington, VA to be with her daughter and in 2015 she moved to Louisville, KY to be with her son where she remained until her passing. Eileen is survived by her son, Kevin (Janelle) Foster; and grandchildren Julia and Maggie; her daughter Karen (Kathleen) Foster and grandchildren Ryan and Adam; her four siblings: Gordon R. Adams, Audrey L. Schoeneweis, Albert J. Adams and Deborah E. Watson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Eileen had retired from the Federal Government after more than 30 years of service and was proud to have worked as Executive Assistant to two Commissioners of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Eileen was an accomplished artist, a talented musician, and an avid collector of memories. She was a kind, talented, generous and loving soul who dearly treasured and was treasured by her family and friends. Visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Home, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 100 Lower Marlboro Rd., Sunderland, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to CurePSP (www.psp.org) to help find a cure for neurodegenerative diseases such as CBD, OR, in support of her passion for art, to All Saints Episcopal Church to establish a Doris E. Chaney Art Scholarship Fund which will be awarded yearly to deserving college-bound art students graduating from Northern High School in Owings, MD.
