Ephraim Cattrell, a former resident of Carrollton, at one time watchman at the Tuscan Tire & Rubber Company plant, and also at the Novelty plant, died at Amsterdam Sunday, his age 80 years. Deceased was born and reared in the neighborhood of Kilgore and Amsterdam, and in early life followed the work of a carpenter and millman, owning a sawmill and following the vocation for years, doing much work in Virginia and elsewhere.
During the world war he operated a drill press in the Diebold Safe & Lock Company at Canton, later with his wife leaving Carrollton and going to Wisconsin, having home with a daughter at Madison. Last October he returned to Amsterdam. Surviving is his wife, of Amsterdam, and two daughters, both in the west; William Cattrell of Amsterdam is a brother. Funeral services were conducted at Amsterdam Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., with Masonic rites, burial being made there.
