Ardeth Jean Schamp was born on June 27, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa; she was the daughter of Ted and Mina (Hertz) Schamp. Ardeth attended school in the Des Moines Public Schools.
In May of 1948 Ardeth was united in marriage to Charles Lane in Des Moines, Iowa and they made their home in Des Moines and Ankeny, Iowa. She had worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Left to cherish Ardeth's memory are her daughters, Victoria Martin of Ankeny and Melody (Mike) Lane of West Des Moines, Iowa, grandchildren, Heather (Keith) Reiter, Travis (Catie) Clark, Cierra (Jack) Cowden and Shanna Wolf, great-grandchildren, Evan and Abby Reiter, Canon Clark, Danny and Bella Donna Cowden, sister, Peggy Kruse and Fred (Mary) Kellar both of Ankeny.
In death she rejoins her parents, Ted and Mina Schamp, husband, Charles, son, CJ Lane, and brother, Richard "Bud" Kellar.
