Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery for Bernard Raymond Phillips Sr., 95, Gadsden, who died Friday, May 1, 2009. Dr. Tommy Ferguson will officiate. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home is in charge.

Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Phillips; son, Ralph Phillips; grandchildren, Cady Phillips and Sam Norton; and son-in-law, Don Norton.

He owned and operated Phillips Produce. He also owned BR's Speed Shop. He was an avid dirt track racer (Car 711). He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, Raymond (Gail) Phillips, Bernard (Darlene) Phillips Jr., Billy Phillips, Jackie Phillips and Bobby Phillips; daughters, Lillian (Lawson) Ward, Helen (Harold) Tucker, Mary (Wayne) Pollard and Kathy Norton; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
