obit - Captain Daniel B. LeVier passed away at his home near Nickleville, Wednesday, February 27, 1924, following an illness of several weeks. The deceased was born April 10, 1839, near Emlenton and was a son of the late John and Jane (Maitland) LeVier, both deceased. He was united in marriage, January 14, 1869, with Sarah M. Gardner, who preceded her husband in death June 30, 1869. They were the parents of five children; two of whom survive as follows; Clifford P. Levier, of Waynsburg, Pa and Mrs. Helen L. Jack, of Garnett, Kansas. One brother and one sister also survive, David Levier of Butler, Pa and Mrs. Evelyn Giering of Emlenton, Pa.
Mr. LeVier was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He served as Captain of Company F, 121st Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, during the Civil War. He enlisted as a volunteer, August 21,1862, and served until Lee's surrender.
Funeral service were held at the home, Saturday, March 1, at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. B.F. Williams, and interment was made in Nickleville Cemetery.
