JUNE 25, 1926 – MARCH 20, 2021
Archie Wright Agerton
Pensacola - Archie Agerton went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 20, 2021.
Archie was born June 25, 1926 in Oak Grove, but the family moved shortly to Pensacola and lived there the remainder of his life. His father was Archie Daniel Agerton and mother, Susie Wright.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Mullins, mother of his children; his parents, brother, sister and son, Randal Agerton.
Archie is survived by his wife, LaVonne; daughter, Nancy Cutts (Danny); grandsons, Matthew Cutts (Tiffany) and Timothy Agerton; granddaughter, Christina (Lester) and five great grandchildren.
Archie spent his last days of World War II entirely at Eisenhower Quarters.
He was a manager with O & R Federal Civil Service at the Naval Air Station until he retired in his middle 40's to fish and hunt. He loved the outdoors, raising flowers and plants, but all of this ended when he had to fight multiple health issues from 2013 until he entered Carpenter Creek Assisted Living Facility from January 2016 through August 2020. Archie was unable to continue attending Olive Baptist Church as he had done before, so he and his wife attended Carpenter Creek's Chapel Service with Rick Lowery as pastor. Rick was not only his pastor during that time, but they became good friends. When the lock down started for the facility he was brought home in September and stayed in home until his death. He loved being at home.
The visitation will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, Monday, March 29, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ted Traylor of Olive Baptist Church and Pastor Rick Lowery of Carpenter Creek will be officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Hwy., is entrusted with arrangements.
