Thomas J. Hinkson of Haus avenue, received a telegram Thursday evening, telling him of the sudden death of his brother, Cyrus Hinkson, a native of Lawrence county, which occurred Thursday noon, at his home in Colorado City, Colo. Death was caused by an attack of pneumonia, which had its beginning last Saturday.
Mr. Hinkson had many relatives and friends in this city and county, who will read of his death with deep regret. He was born May 17, 1852, in Hickory township, and was, therefore, just past 57 years of age. He was one of eight children born to Henry and Nancy Hinkson. The family was remarkable in that of the eight children there were three sets of twins, Cyrus being the twin of Josiah of Colorado.
Cyrus Hinkson went west in the early 80's, and had resided there ever since, having been a resident of Colorado City for the past 15 years or more. He was employed as a foreman in a gold reducing plant, a position which he had held for a number of years. Fraternally, he was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge.
He is survived by one daughter, Edna, aged about 7 years. His wife died about five years ago. Five brothers and sisters are living. They are Josiah of Colorado, George W. of Atchison, Kan., Lewis of Youngstown, O., Mrs. Mary J. Angus of this city, and Thomas J. of Haus avenue, this city. A younger brother and sister died many years ago.
The arrangements for the funeral have not been announced, but the interment will probably be made in Colorado City."
