Curtis Bennett Dyer, 68, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2006. He was born on May 7, 1938 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Curtis and Geraldine Dyer. He attended Roy Miller High School. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his Bachelors and Jurisprudence Degrees. While at Texas he was a proud member of the football team under Coach Darryl Royal. He returned to Corpus Christi and began his practice of law at the Nueces County Attorneys Office and later went on to establish his private practice of law for over 45 years. Curtis was a servant of God and devoted member of Parkway Presbyterian Church, which to him was his home away from home. Curtis was active in Boy Scouts and earned the level of Eagle Scout. He was a Kappa Alpha Fraternity member, a member of the Corpus Christi Bar Association, Texas Democratic Party, Member of the Corpus Christi Rotary Club, Board Member of the Corpus Christi Literacy Council, Charlie's Place Board of Directors; he assisted in projects such as Sara's Kids and Bread for the World. He also served as an Adjunct Professor at Del Mar College. He will always be remembered for his demand for social justice and love for all people.

The family would like to thank Lessie Hoffman for her devoted friendship, help and love towards Curtis and his family. He is preceded in death by his lovely wife, Jerry Dyer and his parents Geraldine and Curtis B. Dyer.

He is survived by his children; his sister, Doris Peters; his brother, Jerald Dyer and their family members. Visitation will be held at Seaside Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 4, 2006. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Parkway Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkway Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund or a charity of your choice.
